Lynne was the daughter of theater performers and loved all things stage musical related. She could sing any Broadway show tune along with all of the Tom Lehrer songs by heart, even while being tone deaf.
Lynne was 5 years old when her parents went to France to work for the American USO theater, her formative schooling was in Poitiers, France where she learned to love French bread, and to speak French in the Primary schools. Her father moved them to Wiesbaden, Germany after 4 years where she finished her early education and gained a strong working knowledge of German language.
Upon returning to the United States she attended high school in Tacoma, Washington graduating in 1972. Lynne attended Ohio State University and Western Washington State College (University) where she achieved her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1975, then enrolled in the US Army with an eye on the diplomatic corps as a career. This path did not open up for her, so she finished her hitch as a prison guard at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas with an honorable discharge.
Lynne was married to Art Edge while they were both stationed together in the army, after leaving they lived in Cincinnati, Ohio before returning to Tacoma, Washington. They were divorced in 1979.
Lynne attended Technical college, earning her computer science certificate and starting her career in IT at her first job with the Olympia Brewery in Olympia, Washington. She continued in that field until her retirement in 2019 from Daimler Trucks, NA.
Lynne met Michael in 1986, they fell in love and got married in 1987 and proceeded to travel the world with him. They bought their first house together in Seattle in 1989, then decided to begin a family. Lynne bore Samantha Curtis in 1991, and thus started her life as a parent. They moved from the Seattle area to Portland, Oregon in 1999, where she worked until her retirement.
Lynne had a passion for making jewelry, and was well known for her creations for over 3 decades. Her pieces have brought joy to many families over the years. Her favorite movies were Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and White Christmas, she loved the song and dance routines. She unabashedly thought Howard Keel was the sexiest man to walk the planet, fortunately for me he was not available.
Lynne suffered from chronic migraines her entire adult life, was completely pain free for about 2 weeks that I know of.
Her suffering is at an end.
Her inspiration and joy continue for those of us fortunate enough to have known her.
