She was born the youngest of five children in Portland.
Marie helped start the Foster Parent Association of Portland and served as its president for its first five years. Thanks to her three sons, she was very active in all phases of Little League and Babe Ruth for 17 years. She also helped start the Hemophilia Foundation in Oregon. Marie will be remembered as a good wife, good mother, and good cook.
Marie is survived by her children, Ed, Bill, Debbie, Rick, and Cherie; 9 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
A rosary will be held at 10:30a.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2014, with Mass to follow at 11:00am at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 9905 SW McKenzie St, Tigard, OR 97223. A reception will be held at the church after services are completed. Please visit her memorial page at youngsfuneralhome.org.
