Obituary of Mary Florence Dunn
IN THE CARE OF

Young's Funeral Home

Mary Florence Dunn, born on September 21, 1940, in Newark, New Jersey, to Joseph and Florence Knapp, passed away peacefully at age 84 on December 5, 2024, in Portland, Oregon.

Raised in New Jersey, Mary graduated from the New Jersey Secretarial School and later devoted her time to teaching elementary school classes of Christian Doctrine. Her life was a testament to faith, service, and community.

On November 7, 1964, Mary married Joseph John Dunn, with whom she built a life centered on love and devotion. A devout member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Mary was actively involved in her parish and broader community. She was a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts of America and a proud participant in the Red Hat Society.

Mary found joy in dancing, attending prayer groups, and being an active presence at church. Known for her kind spirit and deep faith, she often comforted others with her heartfelt words: "I'll pray for you."

She is lovingly remembered by her children: Marie, Jennifer, Joseph Dunn (Nichole), and Theresa Bezayiff (Michael); as well as her cherished grandchildren: Tristen Bezayiff, Baxter Dunn, Cambria Dunn, and Hypatia Dunn.

A Funeral Mass will be held on January 15, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. A reception will follow the service.

Mary’s legacy of faith, kindness, and devotion will continue to inspire all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to her loved ones.
