Mary was born in Craigmont, Idaho to Frances and Iver Longeteig. She attended University of Idaho and graduated in nursing from Emmanuel Hospital Nursing School. As an adult Mary decided she wanted to complete her college education and returned to school, receiving her bachelor's degree from Linfield College. She married Francis “Fritz” Meagher in 1944. Fritz and Mary bought a small hazelnut orchard in Tualatin where they raised their four children. As well as helping with the farm and raising her family she She was a registered nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital in their newborn baby nursery for 25 years. Fritz preceded her in death. She is by is survived by her children, Dan Meagher, Anne Parker, Steve Meagher, and Colleen Wagner. She is also survived by six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Meals on Wheels or Providence Hospice.
