He was born Oct. 16, 1951, in Eugene. He married Cindy Zielinsky on March 17, 1978; she died Sept. 22, 2005.
He graduated from Yoncalla High School in 1969 and attended the University of Oregon. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany. He worked in restaurant management in Eugene and Portland.
Survivors include two sisters, Juanita Baggett and Lynette Van Dorn, both of Pendleton; and two brothers, Everett of Bandon and Roger of San Antonio, Texas.
