Bud was born in Richfield, Minnesota, on Aug. 25th, 1920, to Rebecca and Oscar W. Anderson. Orphaned at age 10, all 5 children; Patricia, Bud, George, Nancy & Richard were raised by aunts & uncles and always stuck together as a family.
Bud married Eleanor E. Anderson on November 8th, 1941 in Hopkins, Minnesota.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army on Aug. 31st, 1942, and fought in the India/Burma Campaign during World War II. He was honorably discharged as a technical sergeant on Jan. 2nd, 1946.
In 1947, he moved to Oregon and opened Beaverton Radiator. He expanded into auto air-conditioning in 1963, and the “Kool King” worked full time through 1998. He remained president of his reputable family-owned and operated business throughout his life, serving the community for 65 years.
Bud Anderson loved hunting and fishing. He built an ocean-front home in 1975 on Nedonna Beach, which provided years of family fun. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved singing and playing his ever-ready harmonica.
He was a 35-year member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Bud is survived by his wife Eleanor of Sherwood; his three children, Bonnie and her husband Denny Olson of Tigard, Gary Anderson and his wife Diane of Newberg, and Judy and her husband Alan Loftesness of Prineville; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
