Phyllis Jeanne Baumgardner was born February 16, 1937 in Mitchell South Dakota. She moved to Oregon with her family at the age of 5 by train. She grew up in Milwaukie, followed by Newberg. On August 19, 1961 she married Bruce Baumgardner. An outdoor enthusiast, “Jeannie” took every opportunity to ski, run, bike, hike and kayak in the Great Northwest she adored. She took great comfort in being a long time member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, as well as being a proud and active grandparent. Jeanne passed away surrounded by the love of her family on October 1, 2014. She is survived by her husband Bruce, sons Gregory and Michael, sisters Roberta and Carolyn, and three grandchildren. At her request no services will be held. Arrangements entrusted to Young’s Funeral Home.
