

Raymond Alvarez, aged 77, passed away on June 6, 2024, in Portland, Oregon. Born on September 19, 1946, to parents Daniel and Teresa Alvarez in Tampa, Florida; Raymond was a cherished member of his community and a devoted family man.
Raymond was a proud alumnus of Hillsborough High School and furthered his education at Chipola College in Tallahassee, Florida. He served honorably in the Coast Guard from 1965 to 1969, dedicating four years to serving his country with integrity and valor.
Professionally, Raymond began his career as an architectural draftsman and later retired as a construction inspector with the Hillsborough County Board of Public Education and School Board. His career was marked by a commitment to excellence and a keen eye for detail.
Raymond's passions included the warm sands of Florida beaches and the rugged beauty of Oregon's coastline. He held a deep love for the Smoky Mountains and Yellowstone National Park, places he often visited with his family, creating lasting memories.
Raymond Alvarez will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his service to his community, and his love for the natural beauty of the landscapes he cherished. He would want to be remembered for loving his wife and children. His legacy will continue to live on through the lives of those he touched.
Survived by his loving wife, Ann Alvarez of Lincoln City, Oregon; son, Ryan Alvarez and daughter-in-law Jennifer Alvarez of Hillsboro, Oregon; and grandson, Eric Alvarez of Hobart, Tasmania. Raymond was preceded in death by his daughter, Rachael Alvarez; parents, Daniel and Teresa Alvarez; and brother, Lamarr Alvarez, all of Tampa, Florida.
