

Born to Everett and Fayolyn Converse on November 11, 1923 in Springfield Massachusetts. She attended grade school and then Medway High School.
In 1946 Shirley and family moved to Oregon. First to Lake Oswego and then to Sherwood where she lived until her death.
Shirley became Executive Secretary at the VA hospital in Portland for 30 years, retiring in 1979.
Upon her retirement, she and her husband, Leo, liked to travel; whether is was day trips, or a four month journey across the US and Hawaii.
Shirley was involved in many activities. Charter member of the Sherwood Lioness Club, Sherwood Debary Board, Sherwood Senior Center Board, American Cancer Society volunteer, and Boyscouts, helping her husband who was Sherwood Scoutmaster for 20 years.
In later years she liked going on daily trips with her son, Lee. She also loved to read, do crossword puzzles, and crocheted blankets for Cat Adoption Team of Sherwood!
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Leo, and her brother Rodney.
Survivors include sons Lee and Larry, niece Diane, 4 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren!

She loved life and will be greatly missed.
A private service was held at Willamette National Cemetery.
