Jean was born in Dorris, California October 6, 1927. She was predeceased by her husband, Carroll J. Plato, in 1999. She is survived by her children, Jerroll Shires and husband, Don; Sue Plato; Bruce Plato and his wife, Julie; grandchildren, Glenn Shires (Kathryn), Erin Shires Lang (Jeremy), Sarah Plato Loftin (Bryce) and Caitlin Plato. There will be no services. Memorial donations may be made in her name to Casey Eye Institute, 3375 SW Terwilliger Blvd. Portland, OR 97239.
