Shiu Kumari Chaudhary

Born: April 26, 1941 Deceased: January 5, 2021

We would like to extend our gratitude to all of our family members, dear friends, and loved ones. So many of you have given your time, your generosity, and unwavering love and support.

In over 50 years together, Shiu and Ram worked very hard to build a happy and full life together with their son Ranesh and his family, and their daughter Amal Lata and her family.

Just as family members had done for them, Shiu and Ram would later sponsor close family members from Fiji to start their lives here in the United States. Shiu and Ram celebrated many occasions with their extended family for engagements, marriages, births, birthday parties, and also for the passing of loved ones.

Shiu’s recent years were spent together with her son Ranesh, his wife Sierra, and her granddaughter Sienna. She is also survived by her daughter, Amal Lata Maharaj, and her grandchildren Keshlyn and Kasey Carter, and Ram Maharaj.

She is proudly survived by her brothers, Chandar Kumar and his wife from Canada B.C., and Hem Raj, Jai Kumar, and Bal Kumar and their wives from California. Shiu is also survived by nieces, nephews, loved ones and lifelong friends.

To our beloved Shiu, Mom, Aji, Nani, and Baby we miss you, we love you, and we honor you today and always.

With all our love,

Ranesh, Sierra, and Sienna

Dear Ranesh, Sierra and Sienna,

I am so very sorry for the loss of your Mum and Aaji, and my Mami (I am Ranesh's cousin, Praveen, from New Zealand ; Bina Fua's daughter).
Mami was always very kind and loving towards me and my son, and her positive attitude, despite her health issues, was admirable and inspiring.
May she rest in love and peace, as she joins my Mama and other loved ones for eternity.
Take care. Be strong, and know that we are all standing with you and beside you, wherever we all are.

Praveen xoxo
