Virginia and her husband were lifelong residents of the Portland area. Together they raised their family and made many lifelong friends some of whom came to eventually share the same independent senior living community.
Virginia loved spending time with her family and friends and even became a "second mother" to many.
Along with her welcoming spirit she will be remembered for her quick wit and innocent expression when playing jokes on people.
She enjoyed spending long hours in her garden and had a soft spot in her heart for every dog she met. The dogs were always glad to see her since they knew that a treat was waiting for them in her coat pocket. A few years ago, Virginia visited the Oregon Campus of the Guide Dogs of the Blind and immediately fell in love with the dogs and the service they provided the visually impaired. Because of that instant love, we have asked that in lieu of flowers donations may be made to Guide Dogs for the Blind, Attn Donation Dept., P.O. Box 151200, San Rafael, CA 94915-1200
