Vita Marie Fleming

Vita Marie Fleming, beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 comforted by the love of her family. She had just celebrated her 74th birthday. Vita was born August 9, 1947 to Wilamena Markel and Michael Renner in Bismarck, North Dakota. She made her way to Portland, Oregon where she attended Cleveland High School and soon met the love of her life, Kenneth “Kenny” Scott Fleming, through mutual friends. On July 1st, 1967, she and Kenny were married and created a beautiful loving family together.

The Flemings loved taking trips to the Oregon Coast, laughing and hosting grand Christmas Eve dinners. They were very much in love and would reminisce of trips to Wallowa Lake, sleeping under the stars with unforeseen rain. Vita kept their 32 year love affair alive even after Kenny’s untimely passing in 1998 by visiting his graveside weekly, bringing words of love and keeping the local wildlife well fed (whether or not that was her intentions).

Vita was known for many things, but her selflessness, caring and loyalty for her family is what she’ll be remembered for. Her grandchildren, and newly born great-grandchildren have been her world and she was the best Grandmother anyone could ask for. Vita will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.

Vita is predeceased by the love of her life, Kenneth Scott Fleming, her parents Michael and Wilamena Renner, as well has her brother Charles Renner.

She is survived and dearly missed by her sister Jean Strom and her children Kariane Morris, Jayson and his wife Darlene, and K.C. and his wife Amy; her grandson Geoffrey and his significant other Alexis Nusser; her eight other grandchildren Payton, Kylee, Kaden, Ava, Kinsley, Mason, Owen and Carson; her two great grandchildren Jonah and Charlotte; as well has her two beloved teacup yorkies Poppy and Baily.

Services will be held at St. Anthony's church on September 1st 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM. St. Anthony's church is located at 9905 SW McKenzie ST, Tigard, OR 97223
