William J Seal

Reverend William J. “Bill” Seal, 94, entered the presence of his Savior on August 3, 2026. Born November 2, 1931, in Paragould, Arkansas, Bill was the son of Rudy and Ruby Seal. He spent

his childhood in Northern California, attending several grade schools south of Yuba City before graduating from Yuba City Union High School in 1949.

On December 18, 1951, Bill married the love of his life, Joyce E. Barrett, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and serving others. Their 68 years

of marriage were marked by a deep and enduring love that carried them through every season of life.

Bill worked for Van Briggle Art Pottery for 18 years before answering God’s call to ministry. He attended Nazarene Bible College in Colorado Springs, preparing for a lifetime of pastoral service. Following graduation, Bill and Joyce faithfully served churches in Sheridan and Roseburg, Oregon, and Manteca, California. After lovingly caring for Bill’s mother until her passing in 1981, they returned to Colorado, where Bill pastored congregations in Karval, Berthoud, and Rocky Ford.

Bill brought his own warmth and humor to ministry. He was known for his humorous preaching, his genuine love for people, and his unwavering commitment to sharing the hope of Christ. In

2000, Bill and Joyce retired from pastoral ministry and moved to Nampa, Idaho, to be near one of their daughters. Although he retired from the pulpit, Bill never retired from loving people,

encouraging others, or sharing his faith.

To his family, Bill was so much more than a pastor. He was a loving husband, a devoted father, a proud grandfather, and their greatest encourager. Through his love and care, his children caught a

glimpse of what the love of God the Father must be like. He prayed for them, believed in them, and faithfully pointed them toward Jesus. His life was a powerful example of what it means to

live out one’s faith.

Bill had a heart for people who were overlooked, forgotten, or shunned. He was loyal, faithful, and generous with his time and energy, and he would stop without hesitation to help someone in

need. He made people feel seen, valued, and loved.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Rudy and Ruby Seal; his brother, Jack Seal; his sisters, MaryLee Moreland and Ann Buck; and his beloved wife, Joyce.

He leaves behind a grateful family: his children, Judy (Andy) Blake, Carol (Bruce) Forrest, Angie (Gregg) Stevens, and Patrick (Joann) Seal; 21 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.
