

On Friday, March 27, 2026, Agnes O’Connor Riina passed away surrounded by her family. Agnes was the beloved wife of the late Thomas W. O’Connor for 24 years. Following his death Agnes married John R. Riina, of Baltimore, MD who predeceased her passing away in 2022. Devoted mother of MaryAgnes O’Connor-Quinn, of New York and Ireland; Thomas W. O’Connor of Ruxton, MD; Roderick A. O’Connor of Catonsville, MD; and Elizabeth M. O’Connor of Lutherville, MD. Cherished grandmother of Elizabeth M. Quinn, Ryan O’Connor Quinn, Connor K. Leatherman, Garrett O’Connor Leatherman and Keelinn Smith Leatherman. She was predeceased by her brother Arthur J. Donohue. Born in White Plains, NY, on June 8, 1927, Agnes was the daughter to Mary Smith Donohue and Arthur C.J. Dononhue. Agnes attended St. Lawrence Academy in New York City and was a 1949 graduate of Fordham University School of Education.
Following her graduation Agnes began her career working for the New York City Board of Education as a Speech Therapist.
Agnes went on to raise her four children and worked tirelessly volunteering for the schools they attended and her church.
After moving to Baltimore in 1977 Agnes began working for the Kidney Foundation.
She retired in 1997 as the Executive Director of the National Kidney Foundation of Baltimore, MD. Agnes was an active parishioner of St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church in Baltimore. She and John moved to Blakehurst Retirement Community in 2013 where they spent many happy years. During her time at Blakehurst, Agnes continued her active lifestyle serving on various committees.
Agnes was a lover of impressionist artists and enjoyed attending lectures and concerts. She reveled in great story telling and raconteurs especially any that allowed her to celebrate her Irish heritage.
Agnes was the family historian and kept all the family records. Her uncanny knowledge of who was who and how they were all related was astonishing.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ignatius Catholic Community 740 N. Calvert Street, Baltimore, MD 21202, on Thursday April 10, 2026 at 10 AM. A private burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.
