She lived in the Towson/Timonium area for the better part of her life, including the last 18 years at Mercy Ridge.
Barbara worked at the C&P Telephone Company (now Verizon) as an Accountant and supervisor for nearly thirty-five years until her retirement. She loved her volunteer position at GBMC Hospital for twenty-five years at the reception desk as well as her volunteer work at the Cockeysville Police Precinct.
Barbara loved her Orioles and Ravens, rarely ever missing a game on TV. She enjoyed the beach and loved her food, especially steamed crabs.
She truly loved her family, often telling others about how the nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews were doing. She was so proud of all of them.
Barbara was predeceased by both parents and her brothers Robert and William. She is survived by her dear sister, Patricia Prater and her nephews, Bob, Jeff and Mark Prater and their spouses, Bonnie, Jeanne and Robin as well as Bob, Bill and Jimmy Dee and their spouses, Maureen, Lisa and Courtney and Colette Tarallo and her spouse, Joe and their families.
She is also survived by her grand nephews and nieces, Matt Prater, Patrick Porter, Chris Linthicum and Brooke Manzo, John Prater, Brian Prater, Amanda Prater and Andrew Prater. Barbara also had many great grand nephews and nieces who she loved very much.
All would say she was like another mother and a special aunt to her family and someone who loved life.
