

Beverly A. Peters, age 86, of Westminster, MD, died on Saturday, January 6, 2024, in the Nursing Center at Carroll Lutheran Village. Born on February 23rd, 1937 in Fayette, Iowa, she was a daughter of the late Walter J. Kayser and Neva R. Garnier. She was the wife of Richard C. Peters, who preceded her in death in 2011.
Beverly (known by friends as Bev) graduated from New Hampton High School in 1955 and moved to Washington, DC to start a secretarial position with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). She married in December of 1957 and resided in Laurel, MD while raising two sons. She moved back into her career field as a Guidance Secretary for the Prince George’s County Board of Education for 30 years. She retired in 1995 and moved with her husband to the Penn National community for 24 years. In 2019, she relocated to Carroll Lutheran Village and enjoyed time as an Independent and Assisted Living resident. She was an active member of St. Luke’s Winter’s Lutheran Church in New Windsor and valued spending time with her family as the #1 past time.
Beverly is survived by her two sons, Richard Peters and wife Wendy of New Windsor, MD and Michael Peters and wife Laurie of Mount Airy, MD: four grandchildren, Stephen Peters, Ashley Peters, Benjamin Peters, and Daniel Peters. One sister, Lola M. Reynolds of Winfield, Iowa preceded her in death.
A memorial service to celebrate Beverly's life is on 27 January at 11:00 a.m. at St. Luke’s Winter’s Lutheran Church, 701 Green Valley Road, New Windsor, MD to be officiated by Rev. Nicole Wachter. A luncheon will follow the memorial service at the church and a private interment is planned for a later date.
