On Sunday, August 11, 2024, David Whitney Josselyn departed onto his next adventure. He was the beloved father of Christopher, Nicholas, and Michael Josselyn who he lovingly referred to as “The Boys”; loving brother of Carolyn Josselyn, John Josselyn (Michele), Anne Josselyn, Michele Scott (Brad), Sally Josselyn and his brother in law Terry Snyder (Janice); also survived by other loving family and friends.
David was the embodiment of an outdoorsman, deeply passionate about activities that connected him with nature, from deer hunting in the quiet woods to exploring the depths while scuba diving. Whether skiing down snowy slopes, biking through trails, victoriously winning a game of paintball or challenging friends to a game of racquetball, he embraced every opportunity for adventure. At one point in his life he yearned for the freedom of the open road, riding whenever he could on his pearl green Suzuzki Intruder. His love for American history and a career as a civil servant with the Social Security Administration showcased his dedication to service, blending his knack for computers with his commitment to helping others. A skilled carpenter, David also took pride in crafting with his hands, a reflection of his Maryland roots. Born and raised in Baltimore, he cherished everything about his hometown—from savoring crabs seasoned with Old Bay to indulging in Berger Cookies. His passion for aviation was matched only by his deep connection with animals; he had a rare gift for communicating with them in a way that few could understand. Above all, David was a devoted family man, always putting his boys first. Known for his bad dad jokes, sharp sarcasm, attentive listening, and sentimental nature, leaving a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Lemmon Funeral Home of Dulaney Valley, Inc., 10 W. Padonia Road, Timonium, Maryland 21093 on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 from 6 PM until 8 PM.
