To Edna, an important and cherished part of the Sadler family. It meant so much to us to have you with us at Mom’s visitation. I wish we had been with you at the end. We know the hairbrush across the knuckles was for our own good. You loved us but you expected us to behave a certain way. You will always have a place in our hearts.

Remembering my loving Aunt who travelled to the Eastern Shore to visit me, my grandchildren and daughter who travelled across the ocean for a vacation… Precious memories of her, she’s in our heart always with Love from Vonnie 💕🙏🏽💐

The times we spent together shopping
The days we ate dozens of crabs
The trips to your sister Irene and Gene’s house in Cockeysville, Maryland
The ride in your new yellow Volkswagen, when we laughed about the car jumping as you learned to drive it. It was a gift from Gerald.
Visiting your sweet mother; she would fry you chicken legs and wings for me.
The birth of your lovely children, Jerry, Ann, Gregg and your granddaughter Miranda.
The fish frys on Friday evening at your house.
The nights spent in your backyard during the summer months, sometimes we slept there.
The Sundays you dressed Ann in her little blue coat and the three plaits with white bows to go to church with me. Her friend Angie would join us sometime.
Your dog named Smokey that came to my house and scratched on the door to come in because he was afraid of storms. He would go in my basement and he stayed until it was over.
The nights Smokey would meet me on the sidewalk if I was coming home from a church meeting. He would wait until I parked the car, and walk me to the door. After I went in he would leave and go home. He was a very smart dog. 
The Sunday afternoon visits to your sister Catherine’s house for dinner
The card games we played and won. I wasn’t that good but Jackie Saunders would help by telling me which cards to play.
Our Elks home visits to meet Cathy and friends also to eat Gerald’s fried chicken. We were treated like royalty.
How about the days at Pimlico on the infield for the Preakness with loads of refreshments.

I am Family. I’ll never forget!

Greg, Jerry and Ann please accept my condolences for your loss. You are all good friends of mine and that will never change. I remember 
that your Mother was very nice to me and was always a very pleasant lady. May her kind spirit always be with you.

      You were more to me than an aunt, you we like a mom. Grandmother, you, and I will be forever linked together as we shared our birthdays a day apart from one another. What special times and celebrations we had each year. When I think of you, I can feel your welcoming hugs and kisses, the kindness of your voice and the warmth of your love and care.  You were always there for me and our family and trust that it was appreciated. We talked almost every single night and that's something I treasured and will truly miss. Auntie you will always live forever in my heart.

Dear Jerry, Gregory, Ann, and Family,

Your beloved mother and loved one was a dear friend to my family and me, especially to my Aunt Lola. I will forever cherish our many special memories, particularly when I lived on Midwood Avenue. Aunt Lola and your mom had a lot of fun, during the years that they were neighbors. Regardless of the distance between them, once Aunt Lola moved away, they remained close and talked almost daily,  Additionally, your mom and my grandmother - who is 102 years old, enjoyed many phone conversations; their last conversation was recently. She, too, loved your mother.

Know that you are not alone in your grief!  The Griffin - Mills  connection is strong.   Although we are not related by genetics, we are bound together by our hearts.  We mourn with you and pray for your peace.

May your mother's unconditional and devoted love for each of you and your extended family keep you lifted and encouraged in the days ahead!
