Elizabeth C. Bon, 56, passed away on December 2, 2021, at her home off the Back River in Essex MD. Born in Mendham NJ, she was the daughter of the late James M Jr and Jane W Courtney (née Weismuller). From NJ her family lived briefly in Houston TX then moved to Glen Arm MD in 1978. She attended Loch Raven High School and remained in the area.
Libby loved her family, her friends, cats, horses, The Rolling Stones, Ravens and Orioles games, camping, and especially, any beach and horticulture. She was a UMD Extension Master Gardner and volunteered at the Center for MD Agriculture and Farm Park. Libby lent a hand to many family and friends’ houseplants and gardens. The blooms in her gardens, and those she had tended, celebrate her life beyond her passing.
She is survived by her sons Jonathan F Bon of Perry Hall MD and David X Bon of Portland, OR. Sisters Jane C Fialcowitz (Paul) of York PA, Deborah C Janik (Peter) of Sparks MD, Patricia C Gilbert (Leonard) of Baldwin MD, Annmarie C Davis (Michael) of Evansville WI, Susan C Muniz (Thomas) of Lynchburg VA, HelenMary C Snyder (Gary) of Blandon PA, Kathleen C Millet (Shawn) of Bethlehem PA and brothers James M Courtney III (Karen) of Woodbine MD and Brendan AJ Courtney of Florida; ex-husband William F Bon of Cub Hill MD and his sisters Brenda B Levine of Perry Hall MD, and Karen B Marcellino (Joseph) of Lutherville MD; 24 Courtney and 3 Bon nieces and nephews and 30 great-nieces and great-nephews. Libby was loved and will be missed by all.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the St. John The Evangelist Church 13305 Long Green Pike, Hydes, MD 21282 on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 11AM.
