Rocky was a loving husband to Eileen and father to Jessica and Allie; a loving son and brother. He adored his dogs, Toby and Louie and grand-dogs Oliver and Dunkin. He was a family man through and through. We could always depend on his quick wit and sense of humor. He was the king of puns. He was an eloquent writer and fabulous editor. He was handy around the house, but more than that, he was a craftsman and artistic soul.
As a retired journalist, Rocky had a voracious appetite for knowledge. He read endless amounts of magazines, newspapers, and books, and he honestly seemed to know something about everything! He especially cared about the state of our country and furiously advocated for what he thought was right.
Rocky was a man of many talents. He participated in a wide range of hobbies including songwriting, woodworking, car clubs, and, of course, golf. In retirement, he was committed to improving his golf game (and he did!). It was an activity that brought him a lot of pleasure and pride.
In the last few years, Rocky and Eileen enthusiastically made Baltimore their home. He loved the city's history, culture, food, and friendly people. He enjoyed spending time on the stoop with neighbors and walking the dog down the idyllic streets of his neighborhood. Most of all, he loved living near his daughters and enjoying so much time together as a family.
Rocky lived a wonderful life, but his time was cut too short. We will sorely miss his company, beautiful smile, wonderful sense of humor, and passionate, gentle nature. We will cherish the time we had with him always. Please keep him alive in your memories, as we will.
Details about a celebration of life will become available in the coming days. Interment private.
