Glen was the beloved husband of Jacquelyn Askins for 40 wonderful years. He was a dedicated father to Diana Voss and Glen Allen Hanke, Jr., and a devoted stepfather to Mike Raymond. Cherished grandfather to four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Glen dedicated his professional life with honor for the Maryland State Police. Outside of his work, he was a creative spirit who found true happiness in the outdoors. He loved the mountains and spent countless hours fishing at his favorite spot, Deep Creek Lake. Glen was also known for his eclectic taste in movies, enjoying all different kinds of cinema.
He was the dear brother of Rose Klapa, Sam Hanke, Barbara DeSanto, Cecilia Hanke, and Donna Hanke. He joins his late brothers, William Hanke and Daniel Hanke, in eternal rest. Glen was also a caring friend to many, including Fr. Rick Frechette. His warmth, creativity, and commitment to his family and community will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Glen’s life will be celebrated at the St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe Street, Westminster, Maryland 21157 on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at 11:00am. Interment Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens.
