Joan Shirley Williams

Born 18 Dec 1932 in Port Clinton, Schuylkill County, PA to William Roosevelt Williams and Irene Sarah Knoblauch who were also from Port Clinton. She was raised in Pottsville, PA with her younger sisters, Greta Lou (married to David Derbes) and Anne Marie (married to Anthony Gaburick).

She graduated from Pottsville High School in 1950. She attended business school and worked as a bank teller in Pottsville after graduation. She married John "Jack" Kelvin Williams from Minersville, PA in 1957. They celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary in August. Jack is a 1950 graduate of Minersville High School, a US Navy veteran, and a 1958 graduate of Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, PA. They have lived in Maryland since 1958.

She has three children: John "Jack" George Williams married to Cathy Gunther; Jean Louise Williams-Woodward married to Richard P. Woodward; and Judith Lee Kauffman. All are graduates of Dulaney Senior High School in 1981, 1983, and 1984, respectively.

She has 12 grandchildren including six biological grandchildren: J. Christopher Trikeriotis, Sarah Kauffman, Jed Woodward, Wyatt Woodward, Becky Williams and Mary Beth Williams and six step-grandchildren: Kaitlin, Jenifer, and Connor Manning and Linda, Steven, and Elizabeth Kauffman.

The family will receive friends in the Lemmon Funeral Home of Dulaney Valley, Inc. 10 W. Padonia Road (at York Road) Timonium, MD 21093 on Monday, November 24,2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9PM. A Funeral Service will be celebrated in the Timonium United Methodist Church, 2300 Pot Spring Road Timonium, MD 21093 on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 11AM.
