Julio Andrade Gutierrez of Garrison, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 29, 2026 after an acute illness, at Gilchrist of Towson, surrounded by his children and grandchildren. His legacy is not just in the accomplishments he achieved in his lifetime but in the unconditional love, generous heart, and relentless spirit he brought into relationships with family, friends, neighbors, co-workers and strangers.
Born on February 19, 1944, he was raised from infancy in a Catholic orphanage alongside his siblings. With the help of his loving sister Rosario, he planted roots in Virginia where he attended and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Strayer University. As a young man, Julio wore many hats to earn a living, from deli clerk to entrepreneur before he retired from AT&T after a 30+ year tenure. He took much pride in providing a life and opportunities for his family that he did not have growing up. In furtherance of that goal he rejoined the workforce as an Inspection Services Program Specialist for the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
Julio embraced and cherished his role as father to his own children, but those who knew him best remember him extending that fatherly love, guidance, and protection to all in his life - from his nephews, grandchildren, neighbors in need and acquaintances he met in his lifetime who needed a helping hand. The joy of his life was being involved in the lives of his four grandchildren - especially attending their soccer and lacrosse games and attending their school events and performances.
Loved ones who will miss Julio until they meet again are his children Dana Amber Morgan (Leslie) and Sergio Alexander Gutierrez (Beth), his grandchildren Ashton Thomas Morgan, Aidan Patrick Morgan, Julia Catherine Morgan, and James Francis Morgan; nephew and surrogate son.
Julio Demetrio Andrade, with his children Aoife Rose Andrade and Rowan Edward Andrade; brother Demetrio Andrade and sister-in-law Maria Elena Andrade and their children Freddy Andrade, his wife Carmen Andrade, Augusto Andrade, Julio A. Andrade and his wife Julia Andrade, Mario Andrade. And the many children of these nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving sister, Rosario Pastora Andrade.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Lemmon Funeral Home 10 W. Padonia Road, Timonium, Maryland, 21093 for a visitation on Friday, June 19, 2026 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm with Catholic Prayers to follow at 12:00 pm.
Interment Carroll Family Cemetery, 20 Sugarvale Way, Lutherville Maryland 21093.
