On November 14, 2025, Kenneth Adam Bialzak passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy rooted in hard work, family tradition, and a deep appreciation for life’s simple joys. Born and raised in Canton, he grew up immersed in the family floral business, a passion that would shape the course of his life.
Ken attended Calvert Hall College High School before answering the call to serve his country. In 1956, he entered the United States Navy, proudly serving until 1958. His time in the military instilled in him a lasting sense of discipline, pride, and dedication.
After returning home, Ken continued in the family’s floral tradition. In 1977, with determination and entrepreneurial spirit, he branched out on his own, opening Ken Bialzak Florist in Cockeysville. For nearly three decades, he poured his heart into the shop before retiring in 2004. Ken then became part of the family team overseeing the development of the Briar Knoll community in Phoenix, Maryland until completion in 2021.
Ken was a man of many passions, but none were greater than his love for the water. As a former member of Baltimore Yacht Club, he enjoyed boating along the Bay in one of his many boats. He had a profound enthusiasm for driving fast boats and relaxing along the shoreline. The water was where he felt most alive. The beach—especially Ocean City, Maryland, was his sanctuary, though any place touched by water brought him comfort and joy.
He was deeply proud of his Polish heritage, embracing it wholeheartedly. He also appreciated the finer pleasures in life: a good glass of merlot or Moet champagne, a well-cooked meal, and the company of those he loved. Cooking brought him joy, and he often shared that joy with others, bringing people together through the warmth of food, stories, and laughter.
Ken’s spirit and zest for life will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will continue to bloom in the hearts of his family and friends. Ken is survived by the love of his life, Barbara. He was a devoted father and step-father to his children, a beloved grandfather and Dziadziu, and a cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews.
He was the son of the late Adam F. Bialzak and Victoria Izdebski Bialzak and was the last surviving of their seven children.
Many thanks to the team of doctors and nurses who provided medical care at St. Joseph's Hospital where Ken eventually lost his courageous battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis and lung cancer.
