I was lucky enough to work with Linda at Mercantile Bank. She was terrific—fun to be with and great co-worker. The last time I saw her was at Ft. Myers airport, Feb 2020. She was in good spirits and her usual very friendly self. I was thrilled to see her. My thoughts are with you during this sad time.

I am just one of the people who can claim they were Linda’s best friend.  Until the last year and a half I thought I was her best friend, her most important friend, her BFF.  But I suspect there’s at least a dozen more out there who thought they were her best friend too.

Most people have just one best friend.  Maybe a couple of close friends. Not Linda.  She drew people into friendship over her life.  Whether a sister or cousin or whether she knew you from high school, or her army life days, her Mercantile days, her old or new neighborhood, from her bridge or grieving group, or volunteer coworkers, you became her lifelong friend.  Many of us “lifers”made it into her inner circle of best friends.  That was how big her heart was.  She had many best friends.

When she became ill each of us lucky enough to be in her inner circle of best friends realized we weren’t her only best friend.  The offset was that throughout her  journey she somehow turned many of us into friends with each other.  

Linda, will live on through all who loved her, especially her extraordinary family.  And Linda, our common link, will live on in the significant following of her best friends as well.  


Linda was my friend, confidant and cousin. We spoke to each other just about every day, frequently hours at a time. We vacationed with our families at the beach for twenty-five years. It gave us great pleasure that over the years 3 generations of Sachse (our parents, us, our kids) had played and partied together in Ocean City.  The last 8-9 years we vacationed together in northern Michigan to enjoy the the lake and fall colors.   
Linda’s smile, laugh, temper and compassion were  all parts of her amazing presents. I will love her always and it will be a mighty task to find a way of making it through the day without her.

       I will always remember your mother for her laugh and beautiful smile.  My memories of meeting with her anytime are that of leaving  after we had a laugh together about our kids. She loved you all.

I was blessed beyond measure to have Linda as a friend for over 35 years. She brought so much joy to my life and to the lives of so many others. I remember Linda as a gracious hostess and a great cook. Could she throw a great party or what? I still remember and crave her famous shrimp dip! Linda was known for her radiant smile, her generosity, her keen sense of humor and her love of family, friends and life. Linda’s family was very special to her, and they were amazing in their love and care for her during her illness. Linda’s friends were numerous, and they came to visit her in droves this past summer to reminisce and to enjoy Linda’s company one last time. Also, Linda loved life, and she fought valiantly to retain it for 19 challenging months. I always told Linda to “Trust in the Lord with all your heart” and she did! All of us who loved Linda are very grateful that she is now at peace.  I, for one, am thankful for all the memories of Linda that I have stored in my heart. They will sustain me forever. Linda welcomed me with open arms and excitement when I moved to Baltimore in 2014. I could go to her with anything and she listened to me and encouraged me to become who I want to be. Linda meant a lot to me and I consider myself to be incredibly lucky to have loved and been loved by her. I’ll miss her support, her encouragement, her love, her hugs, and her laugh and all of the things that made her incredible. I played the song “For Good” from Wicked for her before she passed and told her this song reminded me of our relationship, especially the following verses.

“I've heard it said
That people come into our lives
For a reason
Bringing something we must learn
And we are led to those
Who help us most to grow if we let them
And we help them in return...

I met Linda and Page in 1997 when I first moved to Castlehill Court and we instantly connected; I felt fortunate to  consider her one of my best friends since that time .  Although my heart is broken and I miss her terribly I am so glad to have had the benefit of our friendship and am so much richer because of it.  She was truly one of a kind, and the best kind of all.  

Linda was the most wonderful "machatenesta" (Yiddish for son's mother-in-law).  She was so loving to our son, Glenn, and treated him as if he were her son.  She was a delightful lady who we always loved to visit and have good times with.   Her smile was infectious and we could talk and talk and talk.   She will be dearly missed by us.    
We shared a grandson, Ben, and Linda couldn't have had a more devoted and loving grandma.  Rest in peace sweet Linda and kick up your heels with Page in heaven.

Linda was a light in many of our lives--always warm, interested, caring. We all cherish our many memories of her. Her customers at Mercantile Bank adored Linda, too.  The virtual service today was lovely--tears, but some laughter also.  Thank you for sharing it with us.  My sincere condolences to Ricky, Tracey, and Laurie and to your children.  Linda so loved all of you.  And thanks to you--and to all her friends--for your care and support over these difficult months.  Photos show it all--Linda was happy! First, the service was beautiful, and as you said, Ricky; if it were not for COVID, there would not be room for all that would want to attend because Linda touched so many lives.  Once we both moved from Castlehill Court, we lost touch over the years.  I was fortunate to have lunch with Linda a few months ago. You would never know it had been so long since we had seen each other; the sign of a true friend.  Linda had a heart of gold and loved her family more than anything.  I know you all will miss her so much, but I also know you  have so many wonderful memories and stories about her that will make you smile.  I can think of many, but too hard to put them here. Linda was always a joy to be with! Even after years of being apart she would walk in with a huge hug and pick up right where we left off. I'm so thankful for our family trips from Michigan to Baltimore and OBX.

It's fun to know that part of her early married years were in Germany and today my young family was able to join in her celebration of life from Germany.

P.S. Ricky, on one of those Baltimore trips you made the happiest kid in the world by giving me my first set of lacrosse pads and gloves for a 7th grade rec league when lax was really getting started in the midwest. I continued to use those same elbow pads in hockey for about 20 years!

 Ricky, I remember meeting your mom and all I have to say is she was a gem.   She had to be a great mom because she created a great son.  Please know that she will never leave you because she was always the closest to your heart as you were hers.  She will live on in her children and grandchildren as you all share the love and kindness she instilled in you all.  You all have your own private angel watching over you now. I was mrs Linda’s hospice social worker from Gilchrist. I will never forget her. When I first got her as a patient she never “had time” for me. She was constantly on the go. When I finally did meet her, there was an instant connection. I enjoyed our, what turned into, weekly visits. I know that she is somewhere in Bermuda right now and looking down on all of us. I consider myself very honored to have been a part of her journey and there for her wonderful family as well. She will never be forgotten.

My condolences to the entire family.  I was a customer at the PNC branch in Owings Mills many years ago and knew Linda professionally. Linda was a pleasure to deal with and always made sure the customers were well taken care of.  I miss those days.

I was so saddened to hear the news of Linda’s passing.  Her brave battle against GBM brain cancer was such an inspiration to me.  I am so blessed to have been introduced to Linda a few years ago by our mutual friend Midge De Sesa.  Linda,   I will remember you fondly, your smile, your laugh, your great sense of humor and the many talks we had....you were a special lady on earth and I know you will brighten every day in heaven.  May God bless you and your beautiful family and many close friends that walked with you every step of the way.   

So sorry to hear of Linda's passing. She was a real fun person to be around the years that I knew her. My prayers are with her family which she adored.

I am so sad to hear of Linda’s passing but take comfort in knowing she is at peace and once again with her beloved Page and dear Mom. 
She was all about family and loved each and every member.  Her grandchildren were her favorite topic and I felt I knew them ( I did get to meet a few of them).

Linda was a very special woman...always full of life, love and laughter. She adored her kids and grandchildren, as well as all the family dogs! Everyone who knew her loved her and enjoyed being with her because she had this tremendous capacity to welcome people into her heart. I will miss sitting on the patio chatting about politics, family, faith and so much more. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family.

Every day I was with Linda was special.  Linda was a joyful, loving, sweet and strong lady.  Linda was a dear friend,  a kind and generous friend.  Everyone who knew her loved her.  I will miss her in my life forever.  My husband loved her too.
