Sometimes in life we meet another person and we instinctively know that it’s not by chance. It’s divinely orchestrated by God, two people meant to not only cross paths, but to link arms and walk together for a while. 
This was my experience when I met ms Sue about 3 years ago, assigned as her Home Health Occupational Therapist.
We had an immediate connection, a friendship, mutual love and interest in each other’s lives and loved ones. We enjoyed great conversations while enjoying tea and lunch at a table beautifully set and decorated with her finest china and delicate linens.  Paper plates and napkins were taboo! She and I shared a love for fine china and pretty “table things”.  She taught me about Irish Beleek and shared the article she wrote.  Her time spent in Ireland was a highlight in her life. 
Ms Sue was not rich in material things but rather in life experience, general knowledge and her love for others. She valued every person, every heirloom handed down, every little gift, any time spent with her. 
As she closed her eyes for the last time and crossed the veil, I hope that she knew how much she meant to me and my children, especially my daughter Lyla whom she also formed a close bond with. They often exchanged text messages and pictures of animals. Ms Sue showed sincere interest in Lyla’s love for horses and Lyla loved to bake special treats for ms Sue.
Mostly my kids learned that unconditional love isn’t necessarily limited to blood relatives but from special people who God brings on our path. If only we open our hearts and our lives and treasure these relationships, we have much to gain.
I wish I had more than 3 years to be part of ms Sue’s life in this world, but I’m grateful for every minute.

Sue, 
You were a special lady.  Caring and taking care of others, was the way you lived. Trying to make their lives better.  I am thankful that our paths crossed in this world. You were a wonderful friend.
I know John was waiting with open arms for you to arrive. 
May your time going forward be peaceful and filled with joy.  
I will miss you .
