Mary Carol Baranoski

A devoted member of the Catholic Church, Mary Carol’s life was a reflection of her values and her community. She was a woman of many creative gifts; she found beauty in the world through her music as a piano player and through her skilled hands as a seamstress. When she wasn't at her sewing machine or the piano, Mary Carol could often be found in her sanctuary—her garden. Whether she was tending to her vegetables or cultivating her flowers, she had a true green thumb and a love for nature.

Mary Carol was also an avid traveler with a curious spirit. Her journeys took her across the world to Scotland, Russia, and throughout Europe. She experienced the elegance of the QE2 cruise liner and the simple, sun-drenched joy of Ocean City, Maryland. Of all the corners of the world she visited, Costa Rica remained her most cherished destination.

At home, Mary Carol found simple pleasures in the things she loved. She was a fan of all types of music and enjoyed her favorite programs, rarely missing an episode of General Hospital, Call the Midwife, or the various offerings of PBS.

Mary Carol’s legacy of kindness, creativity, and exploration will be deeply missed by her family and all those who had the privilege of knowing her. She was the loving wife of the late Bernard C. “Bernie” Baranoski for 41 years; devoted mother of Alicia Baranoski, Christina McCreary; cherished grandmother of Ryan and Joseph Riesett, and Matthew, Megan Steve, and Kathleen McCreary; dear sister of the late Linwood Heath, Jr.

The family will receive friends in the Lemmon Funeral Home of Dulaney Valley, Inc. 10 W. Padonia Road (at York Road) Timonium, MD 21093 on Friday, January 30, 2026 from 3 to 7 pm.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Catholic Community of St. Francis Xavier, 13717 Cuba Road, Hunt Valley, MD 21030 on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 10 am.

Interment Gardens of Faith Memorial Gardens.
