Nelson Arron Shaw Jr.

On Monday, October 6, 2025, Nelson Arron Shaw, Jr. passed away. He was the beloved husband of 53 years to Margaret E. Shaw nee Robinson; devoted Dad of Nelson III and his wife Shannon, Candice, and Kelly; dear Pop Pop of Katlyn Evon, Alessandra Catherine Marie, Natalie Alisha, Kelsey Danielle, Sophia Helen and Shareef Nelson; treasured brother of Pernell Shaw and his wife Elizabeth, Sandra Dorsey, Walter Shaw, Zerita Shaw and Mark Shaw; brother-in-law of Linda Robinson, Helen Robinson, Betsy Robinson and Charles Robinson. Nelson is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving extended family members.

Nelson was happiest at home surrounded by the family he cherished. A true homebody, he found comfort in the simple pleasures of life—watching classic westerns on TV, experimenting in the kitchen, and sharing his passion for food with loved ones. He was especially proud of his famous mac and cheese, a family favorite that will be remembered for years to come. Known affectionately as “Mr. Fix It,” there was nothing he couldn’t build or repair, always ready with a tool in hand and a solution in mind. In his younger years, he had a deep love for 10-pin bowling and a particular fondness for Chevy Monte Carlos and Chevelles—cars that reflected both his style and spirit. His quiet strength, generous heart, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends in the Lemmon Funeral Home of Dulaney Valley, Inc. 10 W. Padonia Road (at York Road) Timonium, Maryland 21093 on Friday, October 10, 2025, from 6PM until 8PM.

A Celebration of Life Service will take place at the funeral home on Saturday, October 11, 2025, starting at 10AM.

Interment with Military Honors to follow at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens.
