

Patricia Louise Swain passed away on June 10, 2020 peacefully at the age of 68. She was diagnosed with ALS and spent her last year fighting the disease with the help of Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. May she rest in peace. Patricia was known to all, as Pat. Pat was born in 1951 in Arlington, Massachusetts, daughter of Myles F. Heffernan and Marguerite Heffernan. She later moved and was raised in Acton, Massachusetts where she graduated from Acton Boxboro High School in 1969. Soon after she married James Swain. She moved to Maryland in 1974 and made it her permanent residence. She is survived by her partner and love of life for 35 years, George B. Ayres, son James E. Swain and Trisha Banks of Pompano Beach FL, son Christopher M. Swain of Salisbury, MD, 2 grandchildren Jaime Swain and Brynley Swain both of Pompano beach, FL, brother Myles F Heffernan the 3rd of Bellows Falls, Vermont, late sister, Marcia A. Billings of Deerfield, Massachusetts, and 7 nieces and nephews. Pat had a long successful career as a realtor and made many friends in the business. She loved face time with her grandkids, exercise and pilates classes, walks with her two newfoundland dogs Tacker and Rascal, and spending time with family and friends.
The family will receive friends at Fairview United Methodist Church, 13916 Jarrettsville Pike, Phoenix, MD 21131 on Monday, June 22, 2020 from 11 to 12pm with a service to follow at 12pm. Interment the adjoining cemetery. A light lunch will be provided in the church banquet hall.
