Born on December 27, 1952, in Baltimore, Maryland, Ray was the son of Raymond Milford Sherman, Jr. and Charlotte V. Sherman (née Sidwell), both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, James L. Sherman, Mary T. Sherman, and Ann Christina Sparks.
Ray dedicated a portion of his life to public service as a member of the Baltimore Police Department, serving his community with commitment and strength. Outside of his work, he found joy in the outdoors and simple pleasures - he was an avid hunter and enjoyed bowling, often spending time doing what he loved with those around him.
He is survived by his loving partner, Anne Bauer of Parkville, Maryland, as well as his cherished nieces and nephews, Diana Sparks Wagner, C. Danielle Sparks, Steven Sherman, and David Sherman.
Ray will be remembered for his steady presence, his dedication to those he cared about, and the life he built rooted in family and tradition. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
