Rebecca Linda Ward formerly Miller and Peres, (Nee Bronstein) passed away on July 17, 2021 at the age of 75. She is survived by her daughter Karen M. Sheehan and her husband Barry; her daughter Emily J. Miller; devoted life partner of Stuart Arthur; cherished grandchildren Chris Sheehan and James Sheehan; sister of Susan Dunleavy.
Rebecca was born and raised in Baltimore MD. She graduated from Towson University and became a teacher. She received her master’s degree from the University of MD School of Social Work and enjoyed a long career as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She had a private practice for more than 30 years where she worked with beloved colleagues and provided counseling to many people. She had a life long love of learning and the drive to finish what she started when she completed a 2-year program for a Certificate on Aging at Johns Hopkins University earlier this year.
Many would describe Rebecca as intelligent, fun loving, compassionate, energetic and vibrant with a joy for life. She was also adventurous traveling to far-flung corners of the world like Tunisia, Mongolia, Mali and Uzbekistan and immersing in the culture, people and history. She even bicycled across the United States for her 50th birthday. She enjoyed walking--especially on trails (with her trusty Fitbit), researching new places to travel and most of all spending time with family and friends.
The family will receive friends at the Lemmon Funeral Home of Dulaney Valley, Inc., 10 W. Padonia Road (at York Road) on Friday, July 23, 2021 from 3 to 5pm at which time a memorial service will be celebrated at 5pm.
