Born on March 20, 1944, he was the son of Frances Mays Shipley Noon and Roger Emory Shipley who died in the Battle of Leyte Gulf on October 25,1944 during World War Two. He was raised by Frances and Arthur (Bruce) Noon.
He graduated from Dulaney High School in 1962 and earned his B.A. degree from Davis and Elkins College in 1966. A lifelong sports fan, he generously shared his gift for statistics. He also never forgot a birthday.
He is survived by his sister, Judith Noon Grey; his niece, Emily Grey; his nephew, James Grey; and five great nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his family and his many friends.
