On Thursday, May 29, 2025, Sandra Stallings Spanos passed away peacefully. Sandra was the beloved wife of 52 years to the late George Spanos; devoted mother to her son Jason and his wife Jaime; cherished grandmother to Branden Mercier, Lexi Spanos, and Eric Spanos; and proud great-grandmother to Addison Mercier. She is also lovingly remembered by her cousins Stephanie Canzani, Susan Capp, Candice Powell, and Jerry Freed.
Sandy lived life to the fullest, creating countless memories with her family and many dear friends. A passionate traveler, she recently fulfilled a dream by visiting Australia. Throughout her many travels, Sandy’s favorite city was NYC, nothing could top the lights of Broadway.
She especially loved spending time at Virginia Beach with her grandson Branden and great-granddaughter Addi. Sandy was deeply proud of her only granddaughter Lexi, a dedicated Trauma ICU nurse. This past spring, Sandy didn’t miss a single Maryland lacrosse tailgate, always cheering for her favorite player, #7.
A talented cook with a love for sharing good food, Sandy ran her own catering business, Culinary Delights. Her legacy lives on through her treasured recipes and the meals her family continues to prepare in her honor.
