

Sophia Gonter Connnor was born in Baltimore MD, May 1,1921 she was the daughter of Simeon and Mary Karpook. She is predeceased by nine sisters and brothers. Fred Karpook, Nick Karpook, John Karpook, Russell Karpook, Lawrence Karpook, Ann Evanusa, AliceDzwonczk, Helen Jankowiak, Nada Michocki. Vera Kadlubowski is the only surviving sister. Sophia was married to Frank Joseph Gonter, deceased. Together they had two children: Theodore F. Gonter of Leesburg, Va and Lawrence F. Gonter of Baltimore MD. She was also married to Charles H. Oehring, and Edward Connor, both deceased.
She has 4 grandchildren – Kevin, Claudia, Christy, and Karen, and 11 great-grandchildren – Chloe, Sydney, Maya, Finley, Reese, Carson, Sierra, Aleksandr, Asher, Savanna, and Skylar.
Her 100th birthday was celebrated on Baltimore Fox 45 TV by Jimmy Uhrin, and with friends and family at the White Marsh Olive Garden.
She loved people and was active with seniors at the East Point Mall (always wore a yellow rain coat), the John Booth/Hooper Senior Center, and cherished her friends at the Headliner Hair Salon. She also loved to tap and square dance and was a big Orioles and Ravens fan.
After cremation, the interment will be at a later date.
