He is the son of Edward Walter Mitchell and the late Patricia Jankowski Mitchell; dear brother of Glenn E.Mitchell and his wife Kimberly, and Donald L. Mitchell and his wife Christine; Uncle of Jennifer Eyler (Tim Eyler), Megan Mitchell( Wendy Thomas), Kathryn Mitchell, Bradley Mitchell ( Monica); Great Uncle of Amelia, Valentina, and Bradley, Jr. Steven is also survived by many caring Aunts, Uncles, family and friends and his loving extended family at Emerge, Inc. on Wild Cherry Road.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026 at 10:00 am in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fullerton 8420 Belair Road, Nottingham, Maryland 21236.
