Thomas R. Daniel passed away on October 14, 2025; beloved husband of Terri Daniel for 25 yrs.; dear son of the late Alfred and Leona Daniel; beloved father of Ryan Daniel, Chris Daniel and his wife Briana, Matthew Daniel, and Brandon Daniel; cherished grandfather “Pop Pop” of Edison Daniel and Carson Daniel; dear devoted friend of Ralph Patinella.
Tom earned his Bachelor's Degree in Economics from the University of Maryland at Baltimore County. He went on to work for the Social Security Administration for 36 years. He began his career in Human Resources in 1974 running the SSA Summer Aid and Stay in School Program. Tom eventually become a Human Resources supervisor and retired in 2011. In his youth, Tom played sports like ice hockey, softball, and lacrosse. Once Tom got married and had children, he served as a coach for them in baseball and ice hockey leagues. His entire life, Tom loved to root for his favorite teams including the Washington Capitals, Baltimore Orioles, and Baltimore Ravens. He grew up cheering for the Baltimore Colts but eventually learned to love the Ravens when they moved to town.
Most of all Tom loved his family, friends, and this country. He cherished his wife, sons, daughter-in-law, and grandsons. He enjoyed spending time with them going to sporting events, vacationing, or just hanging around the house. He also enjoyed close friendships with individuals he had grown up with and those he met during his career at SSA. In retirement, Tom spent time taking care of the lawn and volunteering. In more recent years, he had joined a new church and found a renewed faith in the Lord. While he was sad to leave his family and friends, Tom firmly believed that there was a better life waiting for him and that he will see his loved ones again.
The family will receive friends in the Lemmon Funeral Home of Dulaney Valley, Inc., 10 W. Padonia Road (at York Road) Timonium, Maryland 21093 on Sunday from 4 to 6pm. Tom’s life will be celebrated at the funeral home on Monday, October 20, 2025 at 10 AM. Interment Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery.
