Thomas A. Yost

Thomas Frederick Aloysius Yost Sr. was born on September 15, 1934 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Deanna Yost and his 3 sons Thomas, Christopher, and Michael Yost and Valerie Yost and 14 grandchildren.

He was a graduate of Roman Catholic High School in Philadelphia. He enlisted in the army, served in Beirut and Germany, and was honorably discharged. He worked in the trucking, shipping and railroad industry spanning 5 decades. He participated in the evolution of containerized shipping and railroad interface form high level management positions in Europe and North America. He received an honorary degree from Tulane University for his contribution to the US commercial transportation industry.

He resided in Lutherville,Maryland for the last 25 years of his life. He retired finally at age 78. He then spent his time travelling, sharing with his family and was active in his church, Saint Joseph’s of Cockeysville, Maryland.

A visitation will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, 101 Church Lane, Cockeysville, Maryland. 21030 on Friday, December 11, 2015 from 10 to 11AM at which time a Mass will be celebrated at 11AM. Interment Private. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be directed in Yost’s memory to St. Joseph Church, 101 Church Lane, Cockeysville, Maryland 21030.
