I knew Ms. Wanda my whole life. She lived next to my grandparents before living next to my parents and me. When I moved in during middle school, Ms. Wanda offered me a job. She asked if I could get her mail for her. Every day, after school I would bring her mail. I would sit down, and I would usually talk to her for an hour. We would talk about what I was learning in school, my family, or even politics. It meant the world to me that there was an adult outside of my immediate family that would be that interested in what I had to say. I loved her for that. She will always be family to me, and I will never forget her kindness and love.

My heart is broken over the passing of Ms Wanda. I have known her and loved her my whole life. Even though she was my little sister's godmother she always treated me very well also. I always looked forward to our lunch dates when I would take mom and the two old friends could get together and talk about the good old days. They have been friends for 60+ years. They both had walkers later in life but I have to tell you that Ms Wanda rocked hers. She was really fast and I had a hard time keeping up with her. She always told me that she wasn't ready to die. She thought it was an honor to live a long life. Well my dear lady you certainly did live a long life and it was my honor to have known you and loved you for all of mine. We'll meet again my sweet friend. This time it will be a lunch date in Heaven!

A photo from a recent visit with Wanda, one of our lunch dates. I always asked her what her secret was to her beautiful skin.

Ms Wanda was a very close friend of our family and was my Godmother. She was always there with us to celebrate the special occasions in my life. I am thankful for all the loving memories that she has left in our hearts and will miss our visits.💕
