

A man of diverse interests, Wayne possessed a great knowledge of computers and generously offered his support and repair expertise to anyone in need. He was a dedicated member of the Archaeology Society of Maryland, actively participating in both the Central and Western Maryland Chapters and frequently joining field studies and for many years, he was a dedicated and valued member of the Lemmon Funeral Home family.”
Wayne also had a passion for video games, developing extensive knowledge over the years. He even authored numerous gaming manuals. He cherished spending time with family and friends playing board games and watching various TV shows and series. A lifelong fan, Wayne enjoyed following the Transformers franchise, from the original series to the latest movies. He also appreciated the Star Wars saga, both the original and newer versions and was a fan of Star Trek as well. In connection with his many interests, Wayne enjoyed collecting various memorabilia and collectibles. When not engaged in these pursuits, Wayne could often be found immersed in a good book.
Wayne was the cherished grandson of Charlene Pietra and the late Eugene Pietra, Sr., Patricia Downing and Mary Clayton; beloved son of the late Wayne Pietra, Sr. and Brenda Pietra; dear brother of Jim Pietra and his wife, Kim, and the late Laurie J. Bayne. He was the nephew of Charles B. Muehlberger, Sr., Carol L. Burton, Eugene W. Pietra Jr., Alan D. Pietra, Patricia Pescetto, and the late Ray Burton. Wayne found great joy in the companionship of his furry friend, the late Shelby. He is also survived by many cousins.
The family will receive friends in the Lemmon Funeral Home of Dulaney Valley, Inc., 10 W. Padonia Road (at York Road) Timonium, Maryland 21093 on Friday, January 24 from 10am to 11am at which time Wayne’s life will be celebrated at the funeral home at 11am.
