William Meese Pollard (88) passed away on April 1, 2025 (no joke). He is survived by three children: Cherie Pollard Robinson of Lutherville, MD, Kenny Pollard (Kim) of Greentown, IN, Denise Pollard Schoch (Keith) of Montoursville, PA and daughter-in-law Melissa Hack Pollard of Peru, IN. Bill also has many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Bill and Frank. He also had many cousins, nieces and nephews in New York, Maryland, Florida, New Mexico, and Hawaii. His wife, Lorraine, predeceased him as did his significant other, Joan Weyers.
Bill was born in New Jersey on June 22, 1936, to William Bennett Pollard and Roberta Rogers Meese. After finishing school at the Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, he enlisted in the US Air Force. Bill loved life and participated in many sports; tennis, golf, skiing, pickleball, cycling and others. While not busy participating in sports, Bill was active in community projects with youth but especially with teenagers. He was a pleasure to be with and always made people feel better and made them laugh.
There are no plans for a memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the MD VA Medical Center or the American Heart Association.
