On February 14, 2025, William (Billy) Lee Seal, Sr. at the age of 83, passed into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Ann Loretta (nee McCarthy) Seal, his son William Lee Seal, Jr., and daughter-in-law Julie Christine Seal. “PopPop” was the cherished grandfather of Christopher William Seal, Katherine Geraldine Seal, and Caroline Elizabeth Seal. He is a treasured brother of James (Sonny) Seal. Bill is preceded in death by his parents James and Elizabeth Seal, and his siblings Peggy Tucker, Barbara Gailey, Eddy Seal, Joanne Bounds, and Louise Parrish. He was “Uncle Billy” to many nieces and nephews.
Bill grew up in Stevenson, Maryland, and joined the United States Army where he proudly served as a tank operator in Germany between World War II and the Vietnam War, until he was honorably discharged. He married his precious wife, Loretta, at age 21, and lived in the Hunt Valley area for 47 years before moving to Mays Chapel. Bill was a master carpenter working up until nearly the end of his life. His customers appreciated his fine craftsmanship, and his two most prized works were the houses he built for his son, Billy Jr., and his grandson, Christopher. When he wasn’t building a project, Bill found his greatest joy spending time with his grandchildren, tinkering in his shop with Christopher, attending every field hockey game Katherine played, and watching every equestrian competition in which Caroline exhibited.
The family will receive friends at The Lemmon Funeral Home of Dulaney Valley, Inc., 10 W. Padonia Road (at York Road), Timonium, Maryland 21093 on Sunday, February 16, 2025 from 3–5 pm and 7–9 pm.
A celebration of Bill’s life will be held on Monday, February 17, 2025 at 9:30 am at Hunt Valley Church, 13015 Beaver Dam Road, Cockeysville, Maryland 21030 with interment following at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg, Maryland.
