
Barry Hanawalt, 73, of Wallingford, died Thursday, June 28, 2012, at Pioneer Trace Nursing Home in Flemingsburg after a short illness. He was born in Cincinnati on June 29, 1938, the son of Dwight Hanawalt and Rachel Starr. He is survived by his wife, Geneva Ripato Hanawalt. Mr. Hanawalt was a metalurgist/engineer for Globe Metallurgical Sales. He is survived by three sons, Robert “Bobby” Hanawalt of Wallingford, Richard Hanawalt and wife, Jessica of Mount Sterling, and Jeff Hanawalt of Ewing; one sister, Starr Howell of Nashville, Tenn; a son-in-law, Ron Richardson; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Sherry Hanawalt Richardson.
Services are 11 a.m., Monday, July 2, 2012, at Barbour and Son Funeral Home in Tollesboro. Rev. Silas Ripato will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Olivet Cemetery in Mason County. Pallbearers will be Richard Hanawalt, Jeff Hanawalt, Ron Richardson, Greg Barbero, Kevin Staats and Bobby Hanawalt.
Visitation is Sunday, July 1, 2012, 6-8 p.m., at Barbour and Son Funeral Home in Tollesboro.
