

Bro. Carl Harold McCann, 80, of Tollesboro, went to eternal rest on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at his residence with his wife and daughter at his side. He was born November 7, 1931 in Lewis County the son of the late Harold and Beatrice McCall McCann. He was the oldest of eight children. He is survived by his loving and faithful wife of almost sixty-three years, Daisy Calvert McCann; his beloved daughter, Carla Jean Lykins and husband, Bob of Tollesboro; a grandson, Joshua R. Lykins and wife, Teresa of Tollesboro; a great granddaughter, McKenley Jordan Lykins and a step great grandson, Tanner Hord both of Tollesboro; He also leaves behind seven younger brothers and sisters, Don McCann and Jim McCann of Maysville; Dean McCann of Vanceburg; Tom McCann of Columbus, Ohio; Bill McCann of Lawrenceville, Georgia; Kathleen Cox of Norwood, Ohio and Darlene Fallin of St. Petersburg, Florida; several nieces, nephews, other family and many people he has helped and befriended during his life ministry to his beloved heavenly Father. Carl was most proud of his service to his Lord. He devoted over thirty years to the Poplar Flat Church near Tollesboro and also held revivals and camp meetings during his ministry. He was also a business contractor, building homes for many families. He often reminisced about his army days, having served his country during the Korean Conflict from 1953 to 1955 in the First Armored Tank Division in Ft. Hood, Texas. Carl served God with great love and compassion for his fellowman, often going above and beyond what most would feel necessary. He also loved his family with help physically and spiritually down through the years. Funeral services for Carl McCann will be held at the Barbour and Son Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 17, 2012 with Rev. Donnie Reed officiating and assisted by Bill Riggs and Danny Butler. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Garden of Memories. Pallbearers will be Bob Lykins, Josh Lykins, Tanner Hord, Don McCann, Dean McCann, Tom McCann and Jim McCann. Honoray Pallbearers will be McKenley Lykins, Bill Riggs, Rick Musser, Danny Butler, Rodney Brewer, Kent Moore, Joel McCann, Darrel Polley, Billy Fisher, Gene Henderson and Roy Henderson. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 5 to 8 PM. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Hope, 909 Kenton Station Drive, Maysville, KY 41056.
