Charles Milton Lykins Jr.

Charles “Charlie” Milton Lykins, Jr., 87, of Tollesboro, Kentucky died Saturday, September 12, 2015 at his residence. Mr. Lykins was a longtime farmer and landowner, a member of the Burtonville United Methodist Church, a member of the VFW in Vanceburg, KY, served as a Director with Kentucky Farm Bureau where he served as President for Five years and also as Vice President. He was associated with the Farm Credit Services in Maysville for Fifty-one years, also served as President of the Advisor Committee. Mr Lykins was a Kentucky Colonel and an ASC Master Conservationist. He was a veteran of the Korean War having served his country in the US Army. Charles was born in Bourbon County, Kentucky on March 30, 1928 the son of the late Charles Milton Lykins, Sr and Tressie Mae Kearn Lykins. Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Hardymon Lykins, his four children, Robert Lykins (Carla) of Tollesboro, KY, Timothy Lykins (Brenda) of Oak Ridge, KY, David Lykins (Tammy) of Burtonville, KY and Donna Earlywine (Clarkie) of Ewing, KY; Grandchildren, Josh Lykins, Jason Lykins, Kayla Robinson, Jeremy Lykins; step grandchildren, Jeff Earlywine and Jennifer Earlywine; great grandchildren, Tanner Hord, McKenley Lykins, Brody Lykins, Shelby Lykins, Tripp Robinson, Wyatt Lykins; several step great grandchildren and one sister, Bette Simpson of Crestview Hills, KY. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Fred Lykins. Funeral services for Charlie Lykins will be held at the Barbour and Son Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Tuesday, September 15, 2015 with Bro. Mike Ishmael officiating. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Garden of Memories. Pallbearers will be Josh Lykins, Jason Lykins, Jeremy Lykins, Tanner Hord, Newt Robinson and Mike Lykins. Honorary pallbearers will be Pat Mullikin, McKenley Lykins, Brody Lykins, Shelby Lykins, Tripp Robinson, Wyatt Lykins, Martin Dillon and Kayla Robinson. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, September 14, 2015 from 5 to 8 PM. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Hope, 909 Kenton Station Drive, Maysville, KY 41056.
