Ruth Virginia Johnston

Ruth Virginia Carter Johnston, 85, died May 23, 2012 at the Meadowview Regional Medical Facility. Mrs. Johnston was born September 5, 1926 in Appomattox, VA to the late Willie Walker Carter and Katherine Jones Carter Knuckoles. She was the widow of Rev. Lester R. Johnston who died July 6, 1995. Mrs. Johnston was a Registered Nurse working at the Hayswood Hospital and Maysville Extended Care Facility and she was an active member of the East Fork Christian Church. Mrs. Johnston is survived by her four children, Ray (Judy) Johnston of Maysville, Linda (Allen) Marchetti of Roswell, GA, Susan (Frank) Hagan, and Kathy (Ray) Faul, both of Maysville. She is also survived by grandchildren, David Caudell, Jon Carter Caudell, Rob (Tiffany) Allison, Rebecca (George) Hills, Benjamin Faul, Ian Johnston, and Vanessa Budnick, great grandchildren Taeylor Caudell, and Abbi Allison. She is also survived by one sister Ila Jean Buettner of Minneapolis, MN. Mrs. Johnston was preceded in death by three brothers Ellsworth Carter, David Carter, and Joel Carter. Services for Ruth Carter Johnston will be at the Barbour & Son Funeral Home Friday, May 25 at 10 A.M. with Rev. Bruce Heller and Rev. Mike Stephenson officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5 until 7 at the funeral home.
