Bernard Leovihildo Hernandez

Bernard was born on August 20,1947, in Mason, Texas, to Domingo and Santos Hernandez.

Bernard was raised in a large, hardworking, loving family. As a child, he moved with his family from Texas to California in search of greater opportunities. From a young age, he developed a remarkable work ethic and became a true jack-of-all-trades while working in agriculture. He later spent much of his career manufacturing mobile homes, traveling across the country for his work. Afterward, he joined Pechanga Resort Casino, where he worked for approximately 17 years in a variety of departments. He enjoyed learning new skills, sharing his knowledge with others, and formed many lifelong friendships along the way.

Bernard found joy in life's simple pleasures—watching westerns, barbecuing, spending time with family and friends, and fixing or tinkering with anything around the house. He had a generous heart, contagious laugh, and had a gift for making friends wherever he went. His kindness, warmth, and sense of humor left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Bernard was a loving father to Valerie Casares and Aaron Casares. He was an extraordinary grandfather and great-grandfather who cherished every opportunity to be with his family. Whether attending important milestones or simply enjoying everyday moments together, his greatest happiness came from being surrounded by those he loved.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Domingo and Santos Hernandez; his brothers, Andy Hernandez, Michael Hernandez, and Johnny Hernandez; and his beloved grandchildren, Paloma Casares and Israel Bermudez.

He is survived by his sister, Mary Valdez and brothers Larry, Zeke, and William Hernandez. His children, Valerie Casares and Aaron Casares; his grandchildren, Tatiana Steele, Andrea Casares, and Nathan Casares; numerous great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Bernard's legacy lives on through the love he gave, the lives -he touched, and the countless memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
