Felicitó "Felix" DeJesus Martínez Gracida of Glendale, Arizona passed away on Friday, February 5, 2021 due to complications of COVID-19 at age 84. Felix leaves behind a legacy that will carry on through family and friends who had the pleasure of knowing him over the years.
Born on January 1, 1937 in a small town of Oaxaca, México Felix would later leave México as a young man in search of the American dream. It was in Arizona that he established deep roots with his then wife Felícita Magdalena Ubaldo Mendoza. Together they were able to raise their children Andres Martínez, Rosa Martínez, Javier Martínez, Raul Martínez, Clara Martínez and Sergio Martínez.
It was with his hard work Felix was able to buy a home in Glendale, send his kids off to college, and help family when in need – even if it was to provide a great conversation and share laughs. As a father, he was proud of his family, especially his children and enjoyed the company of his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Known as a conversationalist we could all count on a good laugh when Felix would share life stories and words of wisdom.
We pray Felix is at peace knowing his family and friends love him, and will always remember the memories we shared together.
