John Herschel Nowlin Jr.

John Herschel Nowlin Jr., 89 passed away on June 28, 2026. John was born March 7,1937 in St Louis Mo.to the late John Hershel Nowlin Sr. and Dorothy P. Perkins Nowlin. John Jr. was also blessed with his bonus mom the late Mrs. Minnie L Kibby Nowlin who helped guide him through his childhood.

John received his education in the St Louis Missouri. Public School System and graduated Sumner High School with the class of 1957. He enjoyed baseball and cars, but music was his passion. He would write songs and poems and enjoyed putting his own twist on them.

John was employed with Cummins/Allisons and retired after 17 years. He moved to Arizona, and he wasn't quite ready to stop staying busy so he took on a security position at the loading dock for Fry's, a division of Kroger.

John shared three children with Emily Williams-Nowlin, two children with Era (Tina) Hall]-Nowlin, and one child with Brenda Cohen.

John H. Nowlin Jr. was preceded in death by his parents, John H. Sr and Dorothy P. Nowlin, his stepmother, Minnie L. Kibby Nowlin

He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Emily Williams Nowlin, and his brother, Hershel Nowlin.

John is survived by his children, Linda Nowlin – Langford, Dorothy Nowlin-Love, and John H.Nowlin III; Gregory Nowlin, Patrick Nowlin; and Aaron Nowlin.

He is also survived by two brothers Lionel (Rowena) and Oliver (Connie) Nowlin, one sister Vernon Nowlin -Walls (Marty.)

John also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews who brought joy to his life.
