Juan Z. Romero, passed peacefully on Thursday August 13, 2020, at home with his loving daughter, Sylvia Romero, by his side. He was born September 3, 1935 to Ricardo and Luisa Romero and raised in Dona Ana, New Mexico. Juan served proudly in the United States Air Force. He returned from his service enlistment in Korea and married Carolina (Carol) Amador, who predeceased him in 2016. They were married for fifty-five years. He is survived by his daughters, Sylvia Romero and Louisa Anne Harley; 2 brothers, Esidro and Antonio Z. Romero; 5 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 predeceased great grandchild in 1993; 2 step-great children and 4 great-great grandchildren; 1 predeceased great-great grandchild in 2016. Juan had a great love of cooking and a tremendous sense of humor. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed camping with good friends and family. Juan retired from the Local 428 Surveyor’s Union and enjoyed retirement with Carol and his loving family. A celebration of Life will be held in November with close friends and family in Arizona. Details to be announced at a later date. A Catholic service will be held in Las Cruces, New Mexico along with interment with his beloved Carol, also to be announced.
